Hours are tough, working holidays, weekends, family get togethers. 24/7/365 - railroad does not stop running. High stress job, very cut throat

Cons

If you want a ballance between family life and home life, look somewhere else! Very few employees have a family ballance and are expected to live for their job! Very volatile work environment at times.
