Pros
Good pay and benefits. managers at unit level were usually decent about caring for personnel but appeared to have no real say to mid level management. work was usually interesting.
Cons
Heavy volume work load because desks and work re-allocated often. & Department operates with less than 90% of authorized personnel for long periods of time. This increases workload. Management is scattered across the US which can hurt moral and continuity of purpose, training, cohesiveness, etc... No mobility unless willing to relocate. Many times told of change in policy, standards or work flow AFTER date of implementation.
