Pros

the company seems to be moving in the right direction. the new leadership team in chicago is growing the business by focusing on our strengths and our superior customer service. the company is doing its part to ensure that its employees have in place the support they need to make the customer experience the best it can be. management in my department is extremely understand of the work to life balance and they give lots of time off and are very good about allowing people to work remotely from home.

Cons

the computer systems are quite dated, especially our internal financial systems. nonetheless, they do perform the functions intended, and they are constantly updating the systems.

Pros

Some strong talent in pockets across the organization

Cons

Invisible executive management - anticipate turn-over in the next 12-24 months - just not willing to go thru another executive change - so left the company.

Pros

CNA provides ample time to study for actuarial exams. It provides a good work life/balance. The amount of vacation time is good.

Cons

The environment at CNA is becoming increasingly competitive and employees are being more intensely scrutinized. Changes occur frequently to increase the amount of performance evaluation. There are opportunities to help with recruiting and other functions outside of your primary job roles, but it seems like those opportunities are by invitation only. There is a certain amount of secrecy around how decisions are made. Employee development is not emphasized.
