Pros

Decent benefits. Close to public transportation. Has amenities like a cafeteria and parking.

Cons

Soul crushing, gutting, and in all ways a mistake. Management played blatant favoritism towards people who went to certain schools and or certain nationalities. If you were an Irish Catholic who went to Fenwick you would do ok there. In certain departments there was absolutely no room for growth and you could be see people just wasting thier career for less than mediocre pay. It seems like the kind of place where if you don't care you will be in good company. Most days people barely manage to drag a comb through thier hair before going to work because they have just given up on ever finding joy ever.

Pros

Overall a good company to work for, where team work is promoted. More recently the Executive Management team has done a tremendous job of communicating the companies advantages and flaws and a clear road-map for where the company needs to go.

Cons

First, the cyclical nature of the Insurance industry results in regular downsizing as the company refocuses on particular lines of business within its portfolio of Property and Casualty business. Secondly, the company's Underwriting and Claims groups have had prior issues resulting in non-sufficient reserves. These inadequte results in the company getting pounded by rating agencies dragging the company lower in rankings amongst its competitors.

Pros

CNAF has given me the opportunity for career advancement based on my hard work and dedication to my position.

Cons

The work/life balance can be difficult at times where there are long days as well as adjustment to personal vacation schedules. There also is insufficient understanding of the different roles of between departments. In terms of compensation, it is difficult to gauge how you are compensated relative to your peers since there is a culture of non-sharing of salary information.
