Pros

401k is the only pro

Cons

Everything else - Executive leadership continues to fumble. Does not communicate, has not discernible/actionable strategy, and career progression is dependent on who you know. So the next time senior leadership turns over and they bring in a new group, get ready for your career to stall.

Pros

Knowledgeable people who have been with the company for a very long time, who are valuable in teaching/passing down knowledge regarding the company and industry.

Cons

This feedback is specific to the finance teams within CNA. There is no stability of talent on these teams. Constant revolving door of employees. Seems to be extremely hard to attract and RETAIN top talent, especially with inept individuals with no experience in managing, mentoring or leading people/teams are in leadership/management positions. Overall very poor morale and no incentive to go above and beyond because promotions are not based on merit and therefore many of the individuals in leadership/management positions are ill equipped to do their jobs, let alone lead and manage a team. Terrible benefits and extremely behind the times in terms of technology, systems, flexible working arrangements, policies and procedures. There's no incentive to continue working for an organization that doesn't value the hard work that employees put in. Not worth it!!

Pros

Pay is good. Employees are friendly. They do give you the tools to do your job and authority to pay claims.

Cons

Most management seem to be micro managers which is difficult to work with when you are a very seasoned and experienced worker. You can always second guess someone else's decision when things are not black and white.
