Pros

Flexible work schedule opportunities, lots of smart people pass through the doors

Cons

To begin, Cota is the definition of a boys club, as many of the other reviews touch upon. Company wide daily meetings are in place, and those are just a gathering of bros who pat each other on the back and make each other feel important for 30 minutes wasting everyone else’s time. The salaries for those on the medical and analytics teams are in no way competitive, and there is a clear gender pay gap present. The “unlimited vacation” policy is dependent on who is approving your vacation requests. There are a handful of upper management members who have clearly never had any form of management training based on their behaviors that include talking poorly of those they manage behind their backs, uneven distribution of work, and lack of interest in anyone’s career growth aside from their own. Promotions from within the company are few and far between, you have to basically operate at a position above your own for years and years to even be considered. Additionally, the way the management team and company as a whole handles any HR issues that arise is by sweeping them under the rug and shushing anyone affected. There is truly a lack of professionalism going on here and should be fixed ASAP if they want to stop losing talented individuals who can easily find higher pay and a better work environment elsewhere. Client aquisition-wise, Cota is an extremely slow moving creature and members of that team have seen very high turnover over the years. It seems like they are just behind in the industry from where they should be at this stage in the game. Which probably explains why raises and bonuses are pushed back every single year due to “funding problems”, and there is no form of 401k matching.

Pros

Great company. Small but growing and always on the lookout for how to improve. Smart, GREAT people, very diverse in cultures, talents and experiences. Truly some of the most brilliant and genuine people with whom I have worked. Bleeding-edge technologies, the kind of items that promote careers. Pay is very good, probably in the 90th percentile.

Cons

Hmmm.... that's a tough one. OK- parking costs a lot in downtown Boston, but I haven't been there in 3 months so... so what?

Pros

1. Strong, smart, entrepreneurial, and diverse leadership team with proven experiences and successes across multiple industries. 2. Highly talented employees that embrace challenges and demonstrate responsibility and accountability. 3. Collaborative team of individuals that are passionate, care about the mission of the company, and possess strong execution skills. 4. Competitive Pay. 5. Benefits (401k - no match, commuter REIMB, bonus structure, Health Plan options, there are always snacks and drinks in the kitchen). 6. Culture - we work hard/smart, but take the time to celebrate the successes. 7. Good WFH/work remote policy for those that cannot be in the NY or Boston office 5 days/week.

Cons

Some leaders are always busy/traveling, so finding time to connect with them to discuss strategy, priorities, or feedback can be challenging.
