      Pros

      Country Financial is a great place to work as an assistant if you're just starting out, or plan on later becoming a representative.

      Cons

      While $10 per hour is a good hourly pay for someone just starting out, it's not enough to pay bills. Also, working for an independent agent that works for them has its drawbacks, since he doesn't take taxes from my check.

      Great management and support. Plenty of education is provided for new representatives.

      The work is monotonous. Cold calling and prospecting can get very old really quick.

      Pros

      If you're in a good office, you have a good shot at success. Choose the work life balance that you want. But know going into if you take a lot of time off you will be looking for a new job. Solid company to represent. My clients had good claims experiences which makes the job and customer rentention easier.

      Cons

      Your have a manager, district manager, and a person who basically equates to a marketing manager. If any of those people want to micro manage you, that could make your job very annoying. Depending on your location you may have non competitive rates. Requires you to work a lot of hours in the first 5 years to be successful. 40/wk probably won't cut it. Outdated quoting systems will end up frustrating you at some points. Unit based contract means high premium deals don't mean anymore to keeping your job than low premium deals.
