Pros

Guaranteed Weekly pay. Overtime after 8 in a day. Good overtime. Minimum interaction with dispatch (drivers with assigned routes rarely have interactions with dispatch unless something causes a change). Experienced Supervisor who understand and values work/family life balance. 24 hour support. Good benefits with very helpful administrators. Nationwide private fleet contracts with a number of national and regional companies (ex: Walgreens, John Deere, Toyota Parts and more).

Cons

Some operations are 24x7x365 so you may be asked or required to work some holidays (if asked and you accept - the whole day is time and a half). Pay is the same for new drivers and old timers, but bonuses are available for job performance. On 24x7x365 contracts - you are expected (but not forced) to make through, regardless of weather (just like most trucking jobs.)

Pros

Good pay right from the start.

Cons

Being a third party employer, the Customer sets the tone on almost every detail of your day. Dispatch is a one way street. Warehouse generally loads trailers poorly, messing up sequencing and securement. Slip Seat only, no assigned tractors. Driver facing cameras. No smoking on customer property or in the trucks.
