Constantly cutting us

Pros

Upon being hired, some were told we would get $10.25 an hour. Time started from the minute they got out of the vehicle en route to the designated work site. Time ended when they finished the event, cleaned the dishes and equipment, and turned the paperwork in. I was told three days would be the minimum each week and we would be advised of our schedule 2 weeks ahead. If you're very energetic, organized & don't mind some exasperating things people do, your patience can be rewarded by accepting a lead event position. I've been told you only get 25 to 50 cents more an hour.

Cons

However, you may be expected to work a little without pay due to your having to report only 360 minutes for that day, and that is true of leads as well as event specialists--so everyone. Another time they were cut was when they were directed to start once in the Crossmark area and reduced to only 15 min. to get everything organized! When you finish, you only get 15 min. to clean up so many don't clean their equipment at all & do a poor job washing the dishes. Some have been there, never tardy, good work record, but after nearly 5 years they still only get $10.25 and we get 10.50 because we were hired later. Some don't get even 1-2 days either except over a period of two weeks.

Pros

The pay is better than other entry level positions and is very easy work.

Cons

Management and corporate treats you like disposable items and the scum between their toes. Management is trained to be on their high horses and turn their nose down on you. Their demands are highly unrealistic... you never know when you may be scheduled until the day before, so they expect you to not have any external commitments. Ever. They are very strict about any days requested off. This place is honestly not worth the headache. At all. You are held to very strict guidelines and management has free reign to do whatever they want. You will never become full time because Crossmark has found a way to save money by making virtually all employees part time only..
