Pros

Great products & excellent service for insureds. Decent benefits, good work/life balance, dedicated employees despite major deficiencies in senior management skills, attitude, and behavior. Senior management is very arrogant and guided by egoism.

Cons

Multiple reorganizations (which indicate senior and middle management's inability to stick with a decision or plan) leaves employees very distrustful and in a constant state of flux over job instability. Layoffs of knowledgable employees followed by hiring contractors to replace them has led to many employees leaving the organization due to extreme dissatisfaction with the current regime. Egos and decisions based on emotion rather than facts is evidence of a poor management team.

Pros

The people at AAA, CSAA, ACA, The insurance Exchange, the Club - whatever their name is today, are among the best in the world.

Cons

Dysfuctional leadership. Top heavy and stagnated leadership. Way too many in effective CEO's. Massive waste. Lack of ability to focus. Constant re-orgs with poor outcome. Poorly designed and executed products, systems and work flows.

Pros

I am proud of the spirit and reputation AAA has.

Cons

The concept of AAA is lost in this organization. We have gone from a membership focused, employee powered not-for-profit organization to one that hopes to gobble up as much of the smaller AAA clubs across the country it can, all for ego and profit. They are sales people, smiling in meetings while plotting the next round of layoffs. Why the IRS hasn’t caught on is incredible. While they are focused on the dirty cats of wall street, they have let the rats go free. The open dialogue between executives and middle management has ceased. They are now a protected, tenured caste that has tripled their own bonus structure while laying off over 25% of mostly long term loyal employees. The experience and age of staff has plummeted down 14 years! Why an age discrimination suit hasn’t been asserted against us is incredible…probably result of HRS pandering to the new executive direction – frightened for their own future. Maybe they are blinded like so many of the other AAA clubs have allowed themselves to be folded into this enterprise is amazing to me. I suppose the quote might be right on this account, “…they feed the crocodile hoping that they will be the last to be devoured.”
