      Misguided leadership from the top

      Pros

      CSC has some very talented people who are capable of making a difference in the lives of their clients.

      Cons

      Compensation is a disaster - very inconsistent and far below even "average" firms. To significantly overachieve against the lofty targets results in a less than stellar financial reward. Actions of CEO are short-sighted and driven by a bonus plan which rewards him for an increase in stock price (in this case derived primarily through $1B plus in cost-cutting). His millions in compensation have come on the backs of many of my peers who have lost their jobs in the name of "cost containment".

      Collecting a paycheck and having weekends off (for now)

      Declining morale, non-existent recognition, health benefit costs spiraling out of control, asinine bell-curve reviews, clueless upper management, CEO focusing on stock price to further his own paycheck at the expense of the company's future viability to compete

      How to demotivated employees - work at CSC

      Pros

      Worked with some really great customers.

      Cons

      Forcing out older, higher paid workers. Moving as much as possible offshore. Very little chance for promotion. Quota based employee reviews and rankings. I was never allowed to give my employees a proper rating which cheated them out of raises. It's unfortunate to see this company decline in employee morale and engagement since they were once a great place to work for. Every one only my co workers lost their jobs to positions offshore.
