Benefits steadily eroded over my 3 years as an employee, and not a dime in raises due to broken appraisal system.

Pros

Teleworking is now an option for many. Some good people to work with.

Cons

Vacation policy recently changed to require 5 days per year to be used for mandatory shutdown periods, and only 5 additional days to be carried over to next year (which expire after 3 months).

Pros

I work well with the team that I supported for eight years. I enjoyed the environment they help me pay for my schooling and I was promoted several times.

Cons

When they decided to downsize due to budget cuts in 2010 I got only one day notice to get all of my belongings and leave the facility. I think that was unfair treatment after eight years of service with CSC.

Pros

It is a job. Better than no job. All the pros come from the client site, where there is a lot of flexibility.

Cons

The benefits are terrible. Medical, for example, costs more than you can get on the open market, and the services provided are fewer. Management is disorganized, they require working an average of 42 hours per week, but only pay for 40. Communications are poor. IT infrastructure (i.e., email systems, performance eval systems, e-learning systems, time-keeping systems) are ancient and anything but intuitive.
