Pros

Work from home. There are a few intelligent people who know how to manage a business, but it is a small minority.

Cons

When interviewing I wish I had been told that there are no raises. None. They do not give raises here and have not for a long time. Whatever your salary is when you get hired, that is it. This company makes no secret that the only goal is to increase shareholder value. This is done by acquiring small profitable companies, while letting it's core businesses languish. As employees become unhappy they leave, thus reducing the costs. Employees have little to no value to the company. CSC has extremely high turnover, and this is by design. It is cheaper to higher low level employees and simply replace them rather than create career paths and nurture career growth. There is no training/career development budgets. There is an antiquated internal education portal that is very outdated, and that is the only training you will get access to. If you are interviewing, be sure to ask why the last person left and ask how often you can expect a raise. If you are not happy with the answer do not take the job, and do not accept a response of "it's getting better", it's not.

Pros

Extensive paid training, decent starting salary, modern offices (recently relocated), nice colleagues to work with, good team Potential to grow within the company

Cons

Life-work ratio is a disaster, devastating fixed late afternoon shifts with no chance to change or rotate, from 2.30 pm and sometimes going on until after midnight. No overtime paid. Required to report to work earlier to prepare. Way too American and Corporate. Constantly understaffed with harsh amounts of calls and work to deal with.

Pros

Skillsoft training is available. Co-workers are good professionals and we share technical information with each other. We did have 401k with company adding to it.

Cons

Only high level management receives raises. No raise for me or co-workers in 4 years. Under staffing that increases the time customers wait for service. 401k with matching money from CSC has ended. Work - life balance is poor.

STAY WELL AWAY FROM CSC

Pros

They offer reasonable benefits such as extra holiday. There's absolutely no other pros of CSC. Everyone is putting in for redundancy, suppose you'd think that would mean us juniors get bumped up the career ladder!

Cons

This company is absolutely ridiculous. I joined as a trainee and was provided with a second hand laptop and left to just 'get on with it'! I had absolutely no direction of where my career could lead, how the company actually operated or what services/products they actually sell. Very low morale, feels like your in a prison most of the time. The buildings falling apart and the staff are absolutely miserable. Air conditioning is either freezing cold or boiling hot and when I asked to move desks which was denied and I was told simply 'just something you have to deal with'. Low pay, no pay rises for three years, no training, ridiculous mess of a new POD system which sounds like it was dreamt up by a 10 year old. Ienhance, iaction - this is not a flipping iPod! Data centres in the south east of the U.K. apparently had hundreds of employees at one point, now there's around 10 there....all due to outsourcing offshore. The office I work in feels like some time warp, a mix between a prison and a military camp from the 1990s. Don't even get me started on the damn processes relating to itil, we now have a system for logging tickets based on tickets that have already been logged on other ticketing systems, absolutely daft. Avoid this company.

Pros

- a salary - a form of benefits - coffee is provided

Cons

- no project management process - no training or training opportunities - negative attitudes from workers - management skating thru to retirement - using languages and tools that Microsoft hasn't supported for years with no plan of updating in the next 10 years - no remote work policy - no salary increase or bonus payouts in 3-4 years according to people who've been here for 10+ years

Pros

You can accommodate your work and life balance if you are doing it well. Good team spirit among the people I worked with ,beside few idiots.

Cons

No perspective no vision for employee of what's next and poor people management, no training or coaching beside the online based university (No classroom). All the jobs are offshored and european dismantled team that struggle on their own to maintain support level to customer with no means or budget.
