      Pros

      If you are an exempt staff you will get flexible timing. You get the independence to do whatever you want in you job. Good landing job for beginners. But if you stay too long you will not be able to move anywhere. Most folks stay there because they are stuck. Job security after you become permanent.

      Cons

      Poor salary. They have not reviewed their salary range in years. The benefits are pretty good. But if you compare with outside salary it is nothing. Management is pretty bad.

      Great coworkers, little opportunity

      Pros

      I had the opportunity to work with a diverse group of students, my coworkers in my department were incredibly bright and dedicated, flex schedule (in my department but the university condones this), and a great relationship with my superiors.

      Cons

      I am unsure how other departments are structured, however there was virtually no opportunity for advancement in my area. After a restructuring I worked outside my classification for 18 months. I repeatedly requested reclassification or for an increase in compensation to no avail. If you want to keep great employees, you have to treat them like they are valuable.
