Pros

The owners are conservative and structured the company to maintain a healthy growth rate. There are clear paths for career progression. We have more opportunities than the typical IT shop to learn a broad range of technologies. Our project leverage model ensures that each team has senior level members available and access to our entire consulting pool. We provide training for all new hires to make sure everyone is ready to be placed on projects. The leadership team is made up of truly good people that have everyone's wellbeing in mind. CTS rewards hard work and commitment to the company by promoting from within when possible. Our recruiters do an excellent job finding quality people. I started my career at CTS and fully expect to retire from here. We are a big family that is constantly growing.

Cons

Just like any company that is growing and expanding, we have experienced growing pains. Some of the original company culture has diminished over the years mostly due to geographic expansion. We used to have company wide events, but the logistics have limited us to individual office events.

A Great Company To Learn And Grow With

Pros

Computer Technology Solutions (CTS) is an IT consulting firm with six regional offices. I work in the Charlotte office. Our office is right in the heart of uptown Charlotte (literally at Trade and Tryon) which offers a great view from our office on the 21st floor and there are a lot of really great lunch options close by. Parking in uptown Charlotte can be expensive, however CTS offers a parking allowance that is currently the same price as the cost to park in a parking lot that is only 2-3 blocks from our building, which I find to be fair. When I was looking for the next move in my career I chose an IT consulting firm because I believed I would gain exposure to many different problems from many different industries. I chose CTS as an employer because I believed in the training and certification programs, mentoring opportunities, and the benefits were definitely some of the best I have seen. I am confident in the career opportunities at CTS because the company seems to be organic. By that I mean most of the senior staff have been promoted from within. I have seen internal postings for management positions before they are posted externally. Also, the goals for promotion are clearly stated for each position. Since arriving, I have been able to work on a project for a client and have worked closely with our Senior Software Architect. I have gained experience in areas such as data consolidation and migration, application integration, and software development. I have been allowed time to gain knowledge in new areas and time to gain exposure to new technologies. We have weekly knowledge sharing sessions where experienced staff share their knowledge and experience. We also have weekly team meetings where the entire staff are presented with how our company is doing and how business is going for our office. We have monthly fun team events like going to the Whitewater Center to go kayaking, laser tag, and other activities that our team enjoys. The office atmosphere is great and everyone in our office gets along very well. I seriously enjoy coming to work every day!

Cons

Honestly, a great company to work for.

Pros

I really like our company, especially the culture and people I work with. We also have a great relationship with our clients. Reward those in the company for the long haul. Many opportunities to move up with our expansion Promotion requirements are made clear Do not expect/want to work more than ~45 hours a week on a regular basis

Cons

Promotion requirements can be difficult to obtain when on a project.
