Pros

There are some great people in that hell hole, and they are making the most out of a bad situation. They manage to attract some strong talent but unfortunately not able to keep them.

Cons

The Board are so driven by money that it impacts every decision they make. CTS think they own you 24/7 and that you should be grateful for it. There is one 'technical' person on the board of a technology business. But he's so driven by sales and has the attitude that everything is easy and nobody is as good as him. Management style is to belittle, shout and demand and swear. There were some Heads of Dept and Team Leads that buck this trend, they didn't survive or got poached by decent companies. The only people surviving or thriving in the business are aggressive bullies. Promised pay rises, bonuses, training, to look after people, and that they care... they gave us free training courses to do at weekends, 2% pay rises and broken promises but expect the world from us.

Pros

The only pro is that many of my colleagues managed to get out and find much nicer places to work for, in every single case.

Cons

The board is morally ambiguous, and are really just ghastly people with one goal, make money no matter the cost to the client or the staff. Meeting rooms quickly became offices as their ego's wouldn't allow these people to sit amongst their staff. CTS' acquisition plans have destroyed the reputation of two very good legal MSP's, which is a shame as CTS could have improved their reputation instead. But no, they just dragged the others down into the mud where they continue to operate. HR is being run extremely badly, and is a fantastic example of the level of nepotism that exists, never mind if the person can do the job or not, if your face fits you'll get promoted but it comes at a cost. Staff churn has been incredible, I've never seen or heard of anything like this in terms of leavers. Many of the people that had legal IT experience have now moved on. Some people are said to have left in less than a week, and this is for good reason. Unbelievably CTS have actually brought people in to try and fix the problems, they're effectively trying to 'buy' culture. If you're thinking of joining, I'd suggest looking around first and make sure this is going to be right for you. In my view it's only good as a waiting room until the right role comes along.

More money than sense

Pros

Nope, none at all. Not one.

Cons

CTS acquired Sprout IT and CBS IT last November and CBS in particular has gone downhill from day one. It used to be a good place to work with a great team ethic but the pressures applied since then have ruined it. Since the acquisition 9 of the 22 CBS staff have left or have resigned, which says it all really. Staff are leaving and not being replaced and the CTS response is to recruit more people in management positions, usually supposed experts in the integration process. Not much use when you need service desk and support staff. Customer complaints are at an unprecedented level but they don't seem to care, just blame the service desk and employ more middle managers who haven't got a clue what to do about the disaster that is unfolding. On top of the customer complaints staff morale is at rock bottom and management response was to order everyone back in to the office, against Government advice at the time. CTS have a stated aim to be on the Sunday Times "Best places to Work" list - can't see that happening any time soon.

Hello and thank you for your feedback. I am of course disappointed to hear that you were not satisfied with your experience at CTS. Whilst we do acknowledge that there has been some disruption to service in the early part of this year, we are committed to making positive changes and are listening to staff feedback to guide our decisions. Having recently analysed the results of our staff and client surveys, we are investing across the business in measures that will support CTS in delivering a quality service. We continue to backfill our front line service roles, but we do feel it is important to strengthen our management layers as we grow, recruiting experienced individuals to mature our processes and provide day-to-day support to our distributed teams. I would like to highlight that CTS has always operated in line with Government guidance on Covid restrictions, taking a considerate approach to personal circumstances and putting stringent safety measures in place to create a COVID-secure office space that facilitates our new hybrid working model. As you highlight, we aspire to be a leading employer and we are always keen to hear how we can improve. If you have any further feedback, please get in touch.
