Pros

Comp packages are fantastic, and most people are high performing and willing to collaborate and help each other. The company has a strong balance of short & long term prioritization, and is always looking to innovate and develop the next big thing in healthcare. Most people truly care about their roles and want to make a positive impact in our communities.

Cons

In my experience, the work life balance was subpar and it can be a very high stress environment. Leadership is sometimes slow to recognize high performers and those who put in extra work to get the job done with limited resources. Off-cycle comp reviews/promotions are very slow. Typical "large company red tape" is abundant, with access to systems, software, and tools often taking weeks to acquire. Documentation is often non-existent and it can be very difficult to find the right SME to discuss an issue with. Multi-faceted projects lack accountability mechanisms, and teams will not hesitate to pass the buck to others who do not proactively protect their own scope and resources.

Pros

Flexible schedule No micromanagement Great coworkers Great members

Cons

PTO is really lacking since they combine it all-vacation, sick time, float days….moving to unlimited PTO like other companies would be welcomed. They only allow some positions to participate in condensed work weeks. It would be nice if they found a way to do it company wide. It’s not truly fair that only certain positions are eligible to work a four day week. Salary is low when you move within the company; they put a cap on how much they will increase your salary, but will pay a new employee more for the same role. No perks. Insurance is expensive (very). They do not show appreciation to employees often or at all. Verbal recognition on a company board is all you receive. Definitely not a long term company, but a good stepping stone.

Pros

Big brand for your resume and met some nice people

Cons

Toxic culture and work environment Leadership operates using scare tactics, bullying and degrading behaviors. Some of the most selfish and arrogant people I’ve dealt with in my professional career. Teamwork is only prioritized when leaders need their teams to make them look good, and often credit is not given to the people doing the work. Unrealistic workloads, budgets and timelines with unclear processes. Work life balance doesn’t exist and for the benefits package sucked especially for a healthcare company. Maybe that’s changed with the Aetna acquisition.
