      Pros

      The pharmacists and other technicians were excellent to work with. I learned a massive amount about pharmacology due to the expertise of my colleagues and their wiliness to teach me (to be clear, I am referring to self motivated learning, CVS barely trains new technicians at all).

      Cons

      CVS does nothing to reward talented pharmacy technicians, and because of this the best techs always move onto new careers with a couple of years of being hired. Corporate CVS constantly makes "flavor of the month" demands for the pharmacy to reach certain quotas, but never attempts to communicate strategy or reasoning behind these quotas. In addition to that, the quotas are purely punitive: no body cares if you get 100 flu shots above the quota, but the pharmacy managers are harassed daily by district leaders if quotas have not been met yet. This of course results in the pharmacy "cheating" to meet quotas, or sacrificing in other areas to meet numbers regardless of consequences. Corporate CVS constantly feels like an enemy that impedes the pharmacy staff from delivering quality care to patients.
