Pros

Compensation package used to be fair.

Cons

CVS states the compensation philosophy is Pay for Performance - but it is NOT what they practice, at least not in my small corner of the health care business side, Promotions must be asked for and fought for by the employee. The performance rating scale is 1-5. People Leaders are forced to submit a 3 rating for the vast majority their direct reports - if not ALL. Some leaders are allotted a few 4's to hand out, 5's are now simply out of reach, Of course performance ratings directly impact merit increases and annual bonuses. For non-exempt employees, you must receive a rating of 4 or higher to receive an annual bonus. For the 2025 performance year, many employees who previously had been rated as a 4 or 5 for several consecutive years received a rating of 3, though their written performance review clearly indicated above-average or exceptional performance. Some employees, like myself, received only positive feedback throughout the year. Nothing constructive, only "you're doing a fantastic job - keep it up!"
