Layoffs are a way of life. Fewer and fewer holidays. Leadership feels performative, not genuine. The constant uneasiness about what's around the corner. Bonuses are infrequent and not paid independently, instead added to regular payroll. This causes you to be heavily taxed and more of the bonus is absorbed by local and federal deductions. Advancement is for a chosen few, hard work or experience need not apply.

Terrible micromanagement and toxic environment. Will pick someone they do not like and micromanage you even remotely, escalating tensions to the point of forcing you to either quit or be fired. Numerous dietitians have left due to the exact same things and management will pick someone they do not like, regardless of being successful elsewhere or even within Aetna for years, and decide they want to put you under a microscope and critique you until you quit or they escalate your performance improvement plans until you fear for your job with unattainable and moving goalposts based on subjective performance reviews. I was literally told I breathed too loudly on a call and got told it could be taken the wrong way by the client and chastised for that, run and never look back
