Wonderful district

Pros

Cabarrus County Schools works to stay ahead of the public school trends and offer a competitive supplement compared to neighboring public school districts. Leadership at district office is open to feedback and continues to grow with the latest research. Recent completion of LETRS training for teachers, adoption of Heggerty (in addition to Letterland phonics curriculum) has helped students grow in literacy at the elementary level. Positivity Project (P2) has been a step in the right direction to help support the SEL needs of students in the district.

Cons

A lack of a cohesive math curriculum in K-5 makes it difficult to support teachers with instruction. Would like to see the district invest in some research-based professional development or curriculum in this area.
