      There's the right way, the wrong way, and the Cabela's way that will require way more work than needed to get results.

      Pros

      The coworkers were very fun to work with, and learned tons of new things from them. The benefits aren't bad, and the pay is alright. Get to play with guns all day if you work for the gun counter. The actual job is very enjoyable. Great place to shop, and a great family environment.

      Cons

      There's not a lot of full time positions available. You will hear the phrase "Club Visa" so much that you start to hear it in your sleep. Management will micromanage the crap out of you, and you will always be under-appreciated. There is a very high turnover in all the departments. Senior management will be quick to point out where you mess up, but won't acknowledge their screw ups. You will also be told that you are expendable, and that there are hundreds of people waiting to take your job.

      Pros

      Good people on the floor to work with. You do get discounts, but if an item is on sale, the discount is less.

      Cons

      Sr. Management is not good. Department managers are not that good. Leads and managers do not listen to the employees doing the work. Witnessed unethical work practices in the Gun Vault. Some workers treat you like a dog, as in if you make a mistake, your nose gets rubbed in it. I stayed one year so as not to loose vacation pay.

      Pros

      This is a great company to work for. The company benefits and employee discounts and perks are very generous. There are always opportunities to work your way up in the company and to transfer to another store is you decide you want to relocate. Corporate encourages hiring from within first, when filling any new positions that open up countrywide. It's a very sound company, with great products that the company stands behind.

      As of 12/2/14 I have been with the company for 6 months and have nothing negative to say.
