Pros
The first line managers a great. The work can be rewarding and challenging. Depending upon your position, you can have the freedom to work with other teams and explore diverse opportunities within your job function. There's a good amount of employee support for a job well done. Recognition of achievements is good. Team contributions are rewarded. There's a good amount of flexibility given when you need personal time. As long as you get the job done, you're paid fairly and rewarded well. The managers are the backbone of the company - they provide most of the HR related needs to employees.
Cons
There's not much opportunity for growth in career over the past several years. With the acquisitions over the years, there's no strong or dominant company culture. Cadence is looking for it's strength as #1 in the EDA industry again. There's a good amount of questioning the senior management team about their plans for how Cadence will face it's current challenges and move back into the #1 EDA position. But, we're not given a good answer on the direction or how we'll accomplish this. The employee morale is low. A solid direction and good execution is what's needed to grow Cadence.
