Pros

Dealers make good money if players are tipping They have an early out list that you can sign at the beginning of your shift-Lets you leave early if business in casino does not demand that you are needed for that day. It is unpaid time off but you may possibly get out early. Paid time off (vacation time) 3 weeks after a year. Free Table Games Dealer Academy-you have to pay for your own parking.

Cons

Dealers make good money but it is the customers (players) that actually pay your salary. Company pays you $4.25 an hr. as a dealer then the rest is tips (tokes) for the day that are split up among the dealers for that 24 hour period. Very high employment turn over rate-People getting fired for the littlest things. A lot of the players that come in have no regard for your health-they will come into play while sick with flu and other ailments. Employees forced to come in while sick due to 10 point system-get over 10 points in a year and your fired. Food in employee dining room is expensive and workers handle food improperly causing a few cases of food poisoning. Health insurance is reasonable but very high deductibles and the prescription coverage is included in the medical plan so until your $2500.00 deductible is met, you pay for your own scripts. Union was voted in over a year ago but no contract as of yet. Management treats everyone like robots-expects you to never get sick, fires people without any warnings for mild dealing infractions. If you are fired for any reason, they will have security walk you out of the casino past all your fellow employees to your locker to get your things then out the door. If you call off work-you lose a point (you only get 10 a year) plus they take away one of your vacation days so you get double zapped and you only get paid $4.25 an hour for that vacation day-does not include tokes.

Pros

It really is physically easy work for the money. Commissions are nice when they are finally paid a month later. Most people there are cool to work with.

Cons

You are rarely in the know. You may get let go if you don't sell even though you may not be getting out even ONCE a day. Management does play favorites. Too much downtime. Mentally draining and always having to wear a tie even though we are selling fun and vacations!

Pros

If you play the game, there is definitely opportunity for advancement. Be prepared to leave your morals and self-respect behind, however.

Cons

The company repeatedly tells bold-faced lies to its employees, which has led to the lowest morale in a workplace I have ever seen. They say they have the best salaries, but the salaries they offer are less than the competition on the same service level. They say they have the best benefits, until you find out about the ones being offered by other large casinos. And finally, they say that they are the best gaming company to work for - In my 32 years of gaming, I have worked for 5 large employers and have never seen a group of people who hate their jobs this much. Harrah's solution to low morale is toys and games.
