Pros
Exciting exposure to new imaging technologies. Opportunity to present findings at a conference. Large learning experience due to self-taught nature.
Cons
Excessive manual labour and highly stressful, expect many hours in the sun. Disorganized, cluttered, small work environment. High turnover rate, insufficient/untrained support staff. Principal investigator lacks interest/knowledge in subject matter and is abusive. Poor investigative methodology and key instrument availability. Severe lack of infrastructure, likely will have to utilize personal compute. Mostly self-taught type learning environment, little to no guidance from advisor.
