Pros

Company has expanded by adding another cement plant. CEO has become Chairman of PCA.

Cons

Raises at the cement plant are 2% across the board for Salary employees. Bonus is going to be $50-100 before tax. No PCA or other educational classes for employees. No continued education, and they will not work with your schedule if you pay for classes. No Xmas party, no golf tournament, no perks.

Pros

Free food. And a.decent hourly wage.

Cons

Horrible management. No hours, work 3 hrs go home to go back again a few hours later. Micro managing from folks that think they are somebody. When they were just a.jackals with a white shirt . Don't care about employees only the bottom line.

Pros

Pay is $32.00 an hours once you reach 900 hours. Before that pay is $15.00 per hour. a few nice older long-time employees. Some of management are reasonable people to work for. It's easy work for the pay. If you can drive a truck to the site without spilling and push a few buttons, that's about all you need a brain for.

Cons

Coworkers can be back-stabbers with no substantiated grounds. A good ole boys culture. There is no formal training program. Rather they have other drivers train you on the job. A lot of it comes down to if they like you or not, not so much your stellar performance. It is DEFINITELY a union mentality and if you don't follow the herd/crowd you will be ostracised and blackballed. some employees think they are gods gift to the ready mix world. You have to maintain 40 hours to get at least medical insurance and 80 hours per month to get dental and vision coverage. Due to the nature of the construction business, you may not get but 20 hours a week if you're lucky.
