Pros

9-6 working hours. Does not need to work over time (only occasionally) Have sizable market share access equipment space in tier 2/3 telco of North America.

Cons

Need to be much more innovative. Become a leader not a follower The management needs some shake-ups. All they do is attending meeting all day, not much else.

Pros

Excellent engineering staff. Extremely smart and gifted employees. Friendly atmosphere. People are respectful of each other. People are encouraged to take hallway conversations to one of the many breakout rooms, so the Petaluma office is fairly quiet. Calix is appropriately customer-focused. It's nice to work for a company that wants to have happy customers.

Cons

No bonuses for engineers (that I know of!). Culture is extremely schedule-driven, sometimes to the detriment of the products.
