Great company with tons of upside

Pros

Very comfortable workplace. People who work here are very smart and a great bunch to chat with just about anything.

Cons

There are not very many cons at Calix. The only thing I can think of is that sometimes when there is a deadline the expectation is to drop everything (including home life)

--Pros & Work Environment-- Ideal for individuals seeking a technically challenging and rewarding role focused on problem-solving Supportive coworkers and strong team culture Excellent benefits package Management is generally flexible with time-off requests Management generally cares about employees and supports their success. Advancement opportunities are highly encouraged and, for the most part, achievable—though somewhat dependent on shift Not a “hand-holding” environment; success relies heavily on personal initiative, determination, and clear communication when encountering obstacles to growth Fast-paced, high-stress role requiring strong multitasking skills The company compensates well for this environment through competitive pay, generous time off, quarterly bonuses, recognition awards, and company-sponsored team-building events

Cons

High-stress, fast-paced environment, training can feel rushed, AI tools emphasized, AI tools not always reliable

Great company but a bit micro managed

Pros

Great culture, great benefits, great people and even greater future outlook financially

Cons

Time Tracking expectations demonstrate lack of trust and is a first having been a salaried employee for most of my career where we were rated based on our results not the hours we worked. I now don't feel as excited to recommend Calix to friends since time tracking was implemented.
