      Pros

      Very flexible hours. Shifts can be exchanged/traded as needed. Management allows you to ask other people cover your shift if something comes up. Job isn't very difficult, so the pay reflects that. Good thing about working in Millikan at night is that it's usually pretty quiet. Overall, not a bad job to have if you're on work-study.

      Cons

      Not really any that I can think of, besides the pay.

      Pros

      Flexible hours, interesting work. Most days are low stress. In one way or another, working as a GRA exercises your scientific skills. Often, we are given opportunities to teach, also.

      Cons

      Often hours are long, and the experience is highly dependent on your PI/Advisor. And the fact is, for better or for worse, this is effectively an apprenticeship--we are ostensibly in a "teaching by doing" program, that is effectively cheap research labor.
