      Pros

      I have been fairly happy with what Caltech has to offer. The campus provides a wealth of opportunities, is much less bureaucratic than other universities, and Pasadena is a great city to be in. If you have a good advisor, there's a lot you can do.

      Cons

      Teaching quality is highly variable and there's a lot of terrible teaching--for your graduate courses, you will often be better served by learning the material on your own. There are also some pretty terrible advisors--always be careful of who you agree to work for.

      Best place to earn a PhD. Awesome people to work with and great place to live.

      Cons

      Until you get your PhD, don't expect to have a life.

      Pros

      You get to work with and for some of the brightest people in the world at the California Institute of Technology. The benefits associated with working here are among the best you will find in university settings. At the graduate level, there are extremely small class sizes.

      Cons

      Some of the people at the California Institute of Technology lack social skills. This is more true among the undergraduate students than any other population on campus.
