Pros

Calvert County employs many highly qualified teachers and has spent years as an award winning school district. Health care coverage and benefits are adequate.

Cons

Other counties throughout the state offer higher pay. Health care is also more affordable in several of those. Within Calvert, attempts at a hostile takeover of the board of education have already begun from certain groups aiming to take board seats and dismantle an antiracism policy and to limit the results of LGBTQ+ students and staff. The micro (and also macro) aggressions are very real in this climate.
