Pros

There are many reasons to consider working for CAMBLY; however, I will post my reasons: 1. I get paid weekly 2. I can determine the number of hours that I work 3. I have a consistent and steady flow of students; most likely because I am a professional teacher. 4. I am very structured and I try to individualize my lesson for each student; of course there is overlap, especially if the student is preparing for an English proficience Exam. 5. Now that group classes has started, I think in a few more months the bugs will be worked out and will be even more enjoyable.

Cons

The Cons do not outweigh the benefit but here are my cons: 1. I knew when I signed up the compensation I would receive. I wish there was money offered in addition based upon student feedback 2. I don't get to read what students write about me; however, I am told by them that they are very pleased with my performance. 3. If students could read the comments of other students I would benefit by getting more of my target students which are those preparing for an English Proficiency Exam.

Pros

Flexible hours, interesting clients (if you can get them)

Cons

Your hours and ability to get clients depends on a mysterious, arbitrary Rating System that they refuse to fix. Rather than fixing this problem, they are trying to bribe their teachers to leave a fake, positive review for them. They just sent out an e-mail saying they would pay us if we left a positive review for them here. In other words, they are upset about their score on Glassdoor. They could mitigate this issue by fixing their own rating system which would make us employees more than happy to give them a genuinely positive review on Cambly. However, instead of fixing their own rating system, they are trying to bribe us to give THEM a good rating on Glassdoor. It is laughably hypocritical. Beware coming reviews on Glassdoor. It's going to be employees posting a positive review to get a few bucks from them.

Pros

Flexible schedule and weekly pay was nice.

Cons

Hundreds of free trial students download the app and are goofing off, asking for phone numbers or WeChats. I've had students pick up curse at me and then and hang up laughing. I've had students who were absolutely not serious about learning. I've gotten many, many a students who call and hang up after 20 seconds of silence and black screen and you don't even get paid the $.17 a minute for it. There's no way to turn your camera off if you don't want to be recorded or screenshots taken of you. There's no way to reject repeat callers except to ban them from the platform. A student who doesn't like you just because. can give you a bad rating. In addition, there was a serious lag in priority hours in which nobody was getting any work.
