Pros

The pros to Cameron are the benefits (insurance, 401k, matching, etc), training, and location (worldwide). This is a great company for someone breaking into the Oil and Gas Industry; it will definitely give you a solid start.

Cons

Over the past two years, the company has moved from a hand's on, personal approach to leadership and has begun to rely upon Lean Six Sigma practices as a form of leadership. This has caused distance to form between employees and leadership.

Pros

Joining the Cameron team is like joining a family. Most people treat their position as a career, not a job. The staff is very knowledgable and willing help when someone needs it. Cameron goes above and beyond to ensure employee safety. I have seen numerous capital expenditures for improving employee safety. I cannot speak for all Cameron facilities but from those I have visited, Cameron seems to care enough about its employees to have proper heating and cooling (in the manufacturing sites). In this area, Cameron is fathoms above many of its competitors. Long hours have been mentioned in other reviews. I have long hours by choice. I like working here so much I will stay late or come in early to accomplish more work. The benefits are pretty amazing. -Health Insurance is awesome -Dental is okay. -Vision is good. -Matching 401k(for non-union sites) -up to 6% of base pay -given an additional 3% of base pay -Vacation -10 US holidays -15 vacation days for most employees Training -Lean Six Sigma is provided in-house -potential to earn a $1000 bonus -Cameron hosts APICS and PMP sessions -Employees are encouraged to pursue training of all sorts Education -Cameron has a continuing education program that will provide $5250 towards job related schooling per calendar year

Cons

-There does not seem to be room for upward movement -Much of Cameron's management team seems to be a young crowd (many of the senior managers left with packages in 2009) -It is easier to get hired if you know someone -Sometimes it seems people are hired because of who they know, not what they know.
