      Pros

      If you are interested in working in social work or a related field, but do not have much prior experience, they will still consider hiring you. They do not require much prior experience, just show that you are passionate about the field and willing to learn. I learned a lot about different social welfare systems and about community mental health from this position, which I anticipate will greatly benefit me in my future career.

      Cons

      This is a very independent work space. If you do not work well independently, this will not be the job or company for you. You conduct mostly home or community visits with clients, and essentially no one knows where you are at any given time. This can create safety concerns, although I luckily never experienced any unsafe circumstances. My supervisor was extremely hands-off and provided little support, guidance, etc. Even when I did ask questions or ask for support, I was rarely given an answer or granted the support. This increases the workload and can lead to a heightened sense of burnout. This organization is run poorly, and is highly disorganized. The turnover rate is insane, which also upsets clients and means they are less likely to work with you. Management does not take any concerns or feedback seriously.
