The worst place you will ever work

Pros

The only "pros" to the job is the pay check, even if it feels like pennies compared to all the hours you will work on salary.

Cons

Literally everything. Benefits are horrible, the CEO is to busy with his new television show to care about the business, management would be better off if they were intoxicated monkeys. Customers are treated like garbage until they start to complain, and once they start complaining everything is given to them at no cost. Upper management doesn't care at all about store level employees. You will be worked until Camping World takes your soul and finally realize you are better off working for Satan.

Pros

Break room fully stocked with free snacks, beverages and booze. Nice perk, especially when working long hours for very little pay.

Cons

CEO uses fear to motivate people. Not uncommon at all too see him storming down the hall screaming threats at some poor junior-level web designer

Pros

Despite the numerous challenges, one positive aspect of working at Camping Word Corporate was the opportunity to travel.

Cons

My experience working at Camping World’s corporate office in marketing was extremely challenging. The lead management team has significant issues with nepotism and communication. Expectations were rarely clearly communicated, leaving the team to constantly guess what was required and execute at a moment’s notice. This lack of direction and clarity was incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. Support from the company's VP of Marketing and Senior Director of Content & Events was severely lacking. There was a noticeable bias in how requests were handled: women’s requests were often ignored or met with dismissive comments, while men’s requests were addressed promptly. This sexist behavior created an unbalanced and demoralizing work environment. Additionally, the top leaders of the marketing team frequently hired friends for freelance work despite their lack of experience. When seasoned professionals were recommended, their suggestions were shot down as too expensive, even though these professionals would have ultimately saved the company money and delivered higher-quality work. Communication between post-production and production was virtually non-existent. When projects were submitted, or feedback was provided, they were often dismissed with comments like "just fine, get it out," disregarding the quality the projects deserved. Long hours were the norm, including working most holidays, yet we received no overtime pay. Back in the office, the environment was toxic. The Sr. Director of Content & Events often scheduled unnecessary meetings that were not open to team suggestions for efficiency, creating a hostile and stressful atmosphere. The Sr. Director of Content & Events was disorganized and seemed to lack basic industry knowledge. They failed to allocate adequate time for the marketing teams to create and deliver content, resulting in constant confusion, inefficiency, and seven-day work weeks. The Senior Director of Content and events’ self-centered attitude only exacerbated the situation. When concerns were raised, they were met with dismissive responses, ignoring industry standards and legal expectations. Working at Camping World was the worst experience I’ve had in many years. I would strongly advise anyone, especially a woman, considering a position here to think twice. There are far better places to work that respect and value their employees.
