Good company with big global company hiccups
Pros
- Lots of variety, never a dull moment - Global company, work with people all over the world - Company is well-respected, growing in revenues, and expanding into new segments like energy storage - Fun work atmosphere (pre-COVID) - Company is dedicated to solar energy and Making the Difference (sleep well at night)
Cons
- Despite the name, it's really a Chinese company. Major decisions made in China, often with little or no input from the regions. Some decisions make no sense to me. - Despite years of investments, systems are still a mess. This causes daily headaches for may departments. - Budgets are notoriously tight, even more so now that the company is preparing to IPO the modules business. - Pay and perk inequities between Canadian Solar and its subsidiary Recurrent Energy (Recurrent salaries and titles consistently higher) - No raises or promotions at all last year
