Not too shabby, but not too exciting either

Pros

Good benefits, reasonable hours, good salary, nice people, transparency.

Cons

Some projects can be interesting but not all. You can get pigeon-holed into a role in a large company like this. National company but you wouldn't know it - offices don't interact or collaborate often.

Thanks for taking the time to leave us feedback. We’re glad to hear you’re happy with our work/life benefits and our approach to transparency. We’re always working to improve life for our employees, so keep the feedback coming! In regards to our projects, there will always be variation in scale and size; our firm is organized in a way that allows us to partner with clients regardless of what their challenge is. That means that sometimes our projects are monumental in impact, and other times they’re humble improvements to the current state. The level of collaboration is also typically tied to the difficulty and scale of the project; sometimes we have enough talent in one office to deliver a project entirely, while other times we need to harness the collective brainpower of our firm to collaboratively design the best solution (e.g. for the 3 million SF Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal, more than 180 designers worked together on the design). Regardless, collaboration is the bread and butter of our firm’s culture – whether it happens within a single office or across the firm. To your point about being pigeon holed, unfortunately, this is usually the result of someone being really good at what they do! If you feel you’re stuck in a bit of a rut, speak to your supervisor and let him/her know what your career aspirations are. We want you to be happy and successful in your role, and we’re committed to working with you to make sure that happens.

Pros

Well respected firm. Strong in medical planning and healthcare design. Great place for a motivated individual to grow career-wise. I moved up from a recent graduate to an officer in the firm, thanks to the support of many Principals that took an active role in mentoring. Solid benefit package, good pay structure, and great financial support for those pursuing licensure and/or various certifications.

Cons

Firmwide leadership structure changed frequently. Difficult to determine who your "boss" is. May be a difficult place to advance for the shyer bunch, as the firm tends to reward self-motivation. I did not work under the current CEO.

Thanks so much for your feedback. We’re proud of our culture, and are excited you’re a part of it! In regards to compensation, we actively research industry benchmarks to make sure our pay is competitive in the industry. We encourage all employees to openly speak to their supervisors to discuss any compensation-related concerns. We’re also committed to enhancing leadership in all of our offices — whether through hiring new employees or cultivating leaders from within. Within the last year, we’ve welcomed dynamic new leadership in a number of our offices, and we will continue investing in the talent we need to inspire and lead our employees and clients. Thanks again for your comments and for contributing to our firm’s success!
