      Nice, helpful colleagues Good work/life balance International colleagues

      Career progression only for selected few (men) - no talent management programme can fix that Severe lack of diversity in head office Sloooooow decision taking In need of external recruitment to replace vast majority of senior management to provide new perspectives to the business & inject new energy into company No vision from management Lack of leadership Pay is not on par with industry standards

      Pros

      Very good people who are below the management level, they are focused, friendly & have a good understanding of the business without these people Canon would fall apart

      Cons

      Senior Management are a waste of space, always jobs for the boys & friends of the boys. HR are as helpful as a Chocolate teapot & are not helpful & have no understading of what is happening in the real world outside of Canon. Salary is below market value & they are presently making lots of redundancies too

      It's always difficult to respond to reviews like this. Canon emphatically wants people who are capable of bringing in new ideas, and attitudes to/methods of achieving this vary from leader to leader. We accept that more can always be done to promote internal talent. Equally, that’s not always a solution and we certainly shouldn’t be afraid to recruit different skillsets and attitudes. Regretfully, Canon has made redundancies – possibly you’re one of them - but precisely because the world outside is very different to the world of 5/10/20 years ago: These same changes are also driving significant levels of investment, recruitment and change across EMEA.
