Pros

Capco offers a variety of ways to contribute to the firm's growth and success, and unmatched access to leadership and decisionmakers (getting time on calendars is easier here than anywhere I've been). There isn't a one-size-fits-all approach to career development and if you're ambitious, you can create your own journey. Although we're a niche firm, primarily focused on the financial services industry, the diversity of projects across our domains and solutions, along with internal contribution work, keeps things interesting. Above all, the people at Capco are smart, helpful and kind. Our #beyourselfatwork culture sets the tone for inclusion, and there is an expectation that people are able to be their authentic selves at work. Shape-shifting and codeswitching aren't required to be successful here. Senior leaders are committed to improving diversity at the firm and are both open and receptive to feedback around how to improve.

Cons

Capco's culture and pace can certainly feel a bit daunting for those who aren't as extroverted or outspoken, or who need more time to prepare and process. The nimble, "it-is-what-you-make-it" gray areas of the firm can be confusing, and there's also more we could do to invest in learning opportunities for our people. And as with most roles and firms, there's more work to do than time.

Pros

- Good culture - Fun people - Required billed time to hit bonuses was very easy to hit - Great place to learn and grow yourself. They're very supportive of you gaining experience and new skills since it ultimately makes it easier to place you on projects - Generally way more stability than other consulting companies I've seen. I saw plenty of people that worked with the same clients for years without needing to change. - If you're interested in travel you can find ways to get on projects in other locations

Cons

A lot of the cons are just due to the nature of consulting - Experience can vary greatly based on what client/project you're placed in. Some clients/projects are not fun to work with and you might get "stuck" on one. - Change of clients could happen at any time and you could be unexpectedly required to travel out of your city or commute a lot. Didn't happen to me but saw it happen to others - Promotions/Raises. Due to the nature of having different roles, it can be hard to "stand out" against other people at your same level. Especially if your project doesn't offer you good opportunities to do so. Also, you are often at the mercy of your manager doing a good job advocating for you; but you don't pick your manager so you might get stuck with someone who isn't good at it.
