      Pros

      Great work life balance. The benefits are very generous compared to other employers. The retirement benefits are great and they give us more than your usual share of vacation and sick days. Also, everyone in this company is genuinely nice and respectful of each other's ideas. You can say what you have in mind and not be scared of retaliation. They treat feedback very seriously and they put an emphasis on overcommunication as opposed to not saying anything. Probably, the best employer I've ever worked with.

      None that I can think of.

      Good place to work if you're looking for the big company experience - probably better than most.

      Pros

      Until recently, stability - the company is going through some layoffs (its first) due to the horrible market conditions and the outflow of assets under management. Other reasons include a comfortable working environment - casual dress, reasonable hours, nice office environment. If you're going to be a cube dweller, I can't imagine there are a whole lot of better places to be. The benefit package (especially retirement) is extremely generous.

      Cons

      Heavy on the 'culture' - ok, it's a great place to work...but don't tell me that one company of < 10k people is the only place on the planet where people make a difference and are respected and have a chance to contribute.

      Pros

      Strong culture of sharing and independence given to all associates and a lot of flexibility in time. People are willing to help out and this is a place where your work mates are like your family. There are strong people with the skills very proud of doing their jobs at Capital Grp and stay there their whole lives.

      Cons

      Bad management. Inability to make decisions. Too often, culture and history means keeping the status quo which dominate, rather than biting the bullet to make necessary changes. Too many people hired as well with narrow job scopes. Just as there are good people, there are also those who have grown lazy and complacent over time.
