Pros

Great benefits, great onboarding training, they provide all equipment necessary to do your job efficiently, management is fair on the card side, peers do their best to help each other out, if you need help you don’t have to worry about getting the help and additional training and support that you may need.

Cons

The pay is only good if you have two incomes in the home, they squeeze as much work as possible out of you and your team but will not properly compensate you, we are gaining great skills but not being valued adequately, very hard to get promoted- my whole team has been applying for opportunities for the last year that we are more than capable of performing. I love what I do, however, there is little room for growth in our department. Leadership has gaslight my current team for the last four years about being promoted, added more work and included a productivity tracker to “justify” the proposed promotion , and still no advancement (ongoing concern). Ever since I started with COF it has given “cult- like” vibes, because people are proud to work for such a well-known company, but we all know that it is the false sense of job security that drives everyone to stay with COF. Last note, you are more likely to get a higher paying job at COF applying externally than someone who is already internal and simply trying to grow within the company.

Pros

Good pay. Great 401k match (they give 7.5% if you give 6%). Financial benefits are good (ESPP, insurance).

Cons

They pride themselves on being "just like Amazon" but their tech decisions, red tape, and hesitancy to create new resources have just gotten in the way. I've been on a product that was a dead end, and PMs got political about their products without actually building a good product. I wasted so many months here just getting paid because of the economy, the work is unfulfilling if it isn't your first job. Even the TDP I've mentored can miss hours of work each day and be fine. It's like work is a joke. I've disliked my job for almost the entirety of my 1 year so far.

Pros

Some good people here and there, broad array of tech tools.

Cons

Even though the company suggests to assume a good intent, some people and HR makes it impossible. I am getting into all other issues such as letting people raise their voice to their inferiors, but once a guy at a manager position came to our office for a 5 minute chitchat during lunchtime and talking about the wedding he was invited to and his hopes to meet a girl there. This guy has been alone in New York for last 5 years by the way. Following his conversation, another guy in a senior manager position outright said if you can’t find women, try a guy in a very disrespectful way in the office. When a person reported this issue to HR, it took very long to process and waited until a reorg. Even though the person who insulted got laid off during the reorg, they also laid the person who reported the incident during the reorg. This should have been taken to the court actually, but the one who reported was sick and tired, then he didn’t want to have any interaction with the company anymore.
