Pros

hybrid work and coworkers are nice

Cons

chaos management, company culture is so toxic and manager made up lies about my performance, took credit, and blamed me for his fault. There's no transparency from upper leadership. Too many stakeholders and ideas for one single project and no one could/ would like to make the call. Rather than improving projects and collaboration with coworkers, stack ranking makes people more into self-promoting, 'please' all stakeholders and blaming others for anything off.

Pros

Capital One is like the minor leagues for college grads. Great place to get paid and learn then bail. The best TDPs quit and join fang, the worst stay and become part of the problem.

Cons

Beyond the TDP program capital one is not a good place for engineers. It is all about politics and your brand when it comes to the stack ranking (aka required to fire a certain percent and promotions only possible if your peers are worse than you, no bigger pie just growth at the expense of others). As to being a “tech company” - what a joke.

Pros

One star for the flexibility of taking time off

Cons

1. Performance management is extremely unfair and worthless 2. Management is extremely biased and feedbacks are extremely vague and useless for career growth 3. Full of passive aggressive, arrogant and condescending people who are full of themselves with their own ideas and opinions- those people always do ‘great’ and get promoted 4. Full of associates who are with Senior or above titles that are confused or not knowing what they are doing 5. Not much new development work for engineers - more maintenance 6. Overall engineers’ skills are very poor 7. No management only micromanagement
