Pros

Nothing at all. This company sucks. Don't work for them.

Cons

They don't pay enough. They overload you with work. Management can't be trusted. Carmax claims they have integrity. Some of the employees walk around and don't even speak to new employees, there work efforts sucks. A waste of a time to come work for them.

Good company, hours are terrible

Pros

Most everyone is very nice and easy to get along with. The hours are terrible, but they do try to work with you really hard if you need time off for school or any personal stuff. Tuition reimbursement, they feed you a lot. Open door policy, good training. Lots of room for promotions.

Cons

Hours are very hard. In the Business Office you will either owrk 9:30-6:30, 10-7, 11-8, or 1-close. The store closes at 9, but you have to stay until the last customer leaves. Associates at my store have been there until after 1 AM! I wish management would do something about this, it's very frustrating to be there that late. Working with customers can such sometimes, but you get that at any retail job.

Great Place to work

Pros

Pay, salaried plus monthly bonus. Work life balance. For being retail they are very flexible. Culture. All about development. Very hard to get fired. Carmax likes to take time to make you better then to fire you. You would have to steal or do something incredibly dumb to be let go.

Cons

Also culture. If you are willing to teach and train you can move up. However, there are veterans that feel just because they have been around for 10 plus years they have the right to be next in line to be promoted. Insurance is expensive and sub par.
