Pros

I worked at CardWorks as a Fraud Investigations Team Leader for nearly 3 years. I came to this company because I’d heard the culture was better compared to where I was before — and in some ways, it was. The best part of my experience was my team. They were the reason I stayed as long as I did. I dedicated my time, effort, and patience to helping them succeed, and when you find peers who genuinely support you, that’s gold. The company offered some perks like the Hinge Health app and Wellbeats for self-care and work-life balance, and working from home was convenient. The pay for leadership was reasonable, although frontline agents deserved better for the constant demands they faced. ► Some peers truly root for your success. ► Certain wellness perks like health apps for self-care. ► Remote work (though this wasn’t enough to outweigh other issues)

Cons

If you’re okay with being overworked, micromanaged, and having your intelligence regularly insulted, you’ll be fine. Otherwise, be prepared — your team might make it worth it for a while, but the overall culture may not. ► Training was almost non-existent for my first year and lacked depth when finally established. ► Cliques and “mean girl” dynamics — if you weren’t in the boss’s circle, you felt it. ► Communication was poor and contradictory, with senior leaders often bypassing team leaders entirely and creating confusion. ► Culture of scapegoating — leaders were written up for gaps in training they could prove weren’t covered, but documentation didn’t matter if someone needed to take the fall. ► Heavy workloads, slow systems, and everything was “top priority; "all hands-on deck” all the time — no breathing room. ► Pay for agents could be better given the workload and constant changes. ► End-of-year reviews didn’t align with job titles — Level I agents were evaluated as Level IIs without adequate training or role clarity.

We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective, as insights from former employees are invaluable to our continuous growth and development. We are genuinely pleased to hear that your immediate team was a source of support and positive collaboration – that spirit of genuine connection is something we highly value and strive for. We're also glad that certain wellness resources and the flexibility of remote work were beneficial during your tenure. We sincerely regret that your overall experience was not a positive one and that you faced significant challenges with aspects of our operations. We hear your concerns regarding workload, system efficiency, the depth of training, and the clarity of communication and leadership alignment. We also take seriously your comments about perceived fairness in accountability and opportunities for career progression. Please know that we are committed to fostering a supportive, transparent, and empowering environment for all our associates. Your specific points illuminate areas where we are continuously working to improve and ensure every team member feels heard, valued, and equipped for success.
