Pros

Flex work options, generous PTO, and benefits that evolve annually based on feedback. Lots of opportunities for development through stretch projects, committees, mentorship, and formal training.

Cons

Department budgets can fluctuate based on the volatility of the business. This makes it challenging to move projects/initiatives to completion or to thoughtfully request funds for team events/education, for example. At times, project pivots and delays can hinder the productivity and engagement of those who have contributed. Team Leads must spend time combatting that so there’s more burden (time wasted) than meets the eye when that happens.

Pros

A handful of great people, unlimited PTO, remote positions

Cons

A property management company that decided to be a tech company recently and lose site of our real purpose as a management company, the actual management of our assets and onsite team members. Unqualified executive leadership, undervalued employees, lack of transparency, poor product roll-outs. Lots of talkers, very few actual executors. Internal disorganization causes friction and unnecessary bottlenecks.

The Director role is often the most challenging due to the need to prioritize tasks and allocate resources to accomplish them. Each in it's own can become overwhelming given the size and scope of the responsibilities. However, it is crucial that we use our positions and influence to drive the changes we seek. By doing so, we demonstrate to our team that we are committed to being effective advocates in the constantly evolving work environment.
