Pros

Great benefits, including good healthcare, welllness incentive plans, gym on premises, exercise classes and frequent give aways. Good HR structure in place so there's less nonsense going on.

Cons

How great the company feels relies heavily on how the direct management behaves. As always a bad boss can make or break any work experience.

Clinical Appeals Nurse (RN)

Pros

This position will teach you a lot and the knowledge gained can be carried over to other office nursing positions. Compensation not too bad, giveaways, chances to win gas cards and other items given periodically. Communication within the company good with regular town hall meetings to keep you in the loop. Usually a bonus and raise given every year.

Cons

For this position, the productivity standard is a system set up for failure. As with most jobs, there is a productivity standard which I have no problem with, but me at least a reasonable opportunity to meet it. In this position the productivity expected is rarely if ever met because there are constant interruptions to your workflow. Priority appeals have to be attended to immediately with very short completion times and the clock stops on all the other appeals you are working on as you have to put them aside to attend to the never ending influx of priority cases. I personally do not like to compromise quality for quantity as my work is a direct reflection on my professionalism. But in this position, you might have to compromise your quality for quantity just to keep your job. I am not an adrenaline junkie and do not thrive on a work place that causes high, unyielding stress, emotionalism and resentment for the position. You can stay after work every night trying to play catch-up and never ever achieve it. And lastly, don't go on vacation because when you come back it will take you at least one month to catch back up the place you were before you left. Now have that in the back of your mind on vacation trying relax on a beach somewhere......
