Pros

Competitive salary & 401K match Still many great people Respect worthy CEO The mission - serving our members

Cons

Abusive leadership (below CEO level) Extremely high turnover, now even among long time employees Minimal work life balance - 12 hr days & weekends are typical & necessary Unsustainable workload Chaotic direction, documented best practices aren't followed HR listens to reports of hostile work environment but nothing changes Unclear team responsibilities, infighting among various team mgrs Thousands of wasted resource hours on projects that weren't properly vetted prior to approval I can only speak for the IT and project management areas. About 2 years ago, the leadership culture drastically changed. What was once a respectful, collaborative environment became a demeaning, unhappy situation. On my small team, over 30 people have come and gone in less than 2 years. A large number of high tenured, knowledgeable people on many teams have left in the last 18 months. Finding a subject matter expert is increasingly difficult. One dev team of 12 lost 10 people over the last year. All of them were sharp, hardworking people who are now making a difference for other organizations.

Pros

Serving the underserved (Medicaid Members) I never knew very much about Medicaid until I started working at CareSource. It allowed me to see some of the pain around the underserved and lower income people in our country.

Cons

I really wish that CareSource lived by its motto, “healthcare with heart.” I have never seen a company where so many directors are hired and I paid over six figures so quickly. This has been going on, ever since our former CEO retired. There aren’t enough “workers“ to do the work.

Pros

Employees treated with fairness in most areas

Cons

Some leaders are old school and believe productivity can only be achieved in office, unless you are a leader and in that case you can work from anywhere in the country
