Pros

Most mid-managers willing to work with you on home life issues Autonomy to do your job Great place to find your career if you are hired in as a college intern/recruit

Cons

It's not what you know, it's who you know. Most management positions are filled by college interns/recruits who are then put into "succession" plans to further develop and promote them. "Open" supervisory and management positions are usually filled before even being posted on internal job board.

Pros

Great people, great goals and a great company. They have a good intern program at most locations which should give a lot of responsibility and project design work to interns. Typical projects are equipment and piping installs or replacements, addressing safety issues with physical installations (need a new platform, etc). You really do an engineer's work.

Cons

Since Cargill is so big, you end up with some communication issues with new information across the large sites and general changes in info across the business unit or Cargill as a whole. For managers a lot of emails come to them, I believe and they feel overloaded.
