Pros

Entrepreneurial culture. Smart people. Very profit driven. Good physical footprint. Great training grounds. If you're smart and on a fast track, you will be loved. If you're not on a fast track, be ready to get laid off, particularly in commercial roles.

Cons

One team - one dream culture doesn't always bode well for bonuses. IT systems are terrible. A good amount of incompetent people.

Pros

Cargill has very strong ethics and as an employee, I feel proud to work for a company that is so committed to the values they promote. The direction of the company feels more exciting now than it has in the past 20 years. The vision seems clear and something that employees, contractors, customers and vendors can get excited about.

Cons

While the vision is exciting, the execution to achieve that vision is questionable. There are many large scale efforts of change going on at the same time and these efforts are not integrated. So, as an employee, it feels like a constant disruption, as a manager, it is hard to be constantly supporting when all these changes happen simultaneously. Lack of integration for all these efforts makes it appear that they are not organized and well-thought out.

Pros

Enjoyable work environment. Most people throughout the company are excellent to work with. Cargill has very high ethical standards. Always a leader within the industries they play in.

Cons

The company has gotten too focused on processes and is starting to drowned somewhat in programs, paperwork, and its processes for the purpose of having processes. The company has definitely become more clunky and top-heavy with inexperienced for unqualified overhead.
