Pros

Great benefits, flexible work arrangements dependent on manager, great potential for career growth within company

Cons

Culture. Multiple corporate functions have gone through/ are going through restructuring and no body is handling the change well. They are in the middle of offshoring a lot of their corporate services to regional service centers across the world and it is not a graceful or welcome transition.

Pros

Family owned, successful company that continually takes in an unbelievable amount of profit each year.

Cons

They company is really working to lean out - there is a lot of job insecurity, especially if you are a senior employee. Coworkers have lost their jobs, only to have them re-posted after six months or so at a lower pay rate. If you are someone who is willing to drink the kool-aid, you'll do well here; otherwise, don't provide your "candor" when asked.

Outsourcing of IT

Pros

The company provides excellent experience as well as education as you work in different technologies. I joined the company while there were still family members involved in the company. As they stopped being involved the company has been slowly evolving into the environment that exists now. They provided a good package that would help us to land new positions. Good place to get IT experience but realize that the IT job function is being systematically outsourced so don't look at the company for long term employment in IT. I know nothing about other job areas

Cons

I did not care for the way in which the time prior to the actual layoff was handled. Months of meetings were held to help them formalize their new strategy. All the while some of us realized we were helping them lay the framework for outsourcing our jobs. I've heard that the contracting firm they went with is not performing as hoped. This firm has lost several contracts in the past year. .
